I'm a bit overwhelmed by choices, if anyone would care to help me decide on a holiday
Going as a couple both in our 30s, no kids
Upto a week ish. OH has never flown so I think maybe upto 3 hours on a plane or less preferably
Not sure if I should go for a 3/4 day city break or a sunny poolside holiday of around a week
Sometime between july-end of September preferably
I don't want to spend silly money but upto maybe £800 pp if all inclusive, less if not

Suggest away (links appreciated 😁)

Croatia is only a 2 hour flight . We go to Cavtat just a water taxi ride across from Dubrovnik 10 mins from the airport . Cavtat is quiet but if you want it more lively Dubrovnik is great and lots of history if that's your bag ? The people are very welcoming and the local food is great !

Just from a quick check it looks like I'd probably have to spend more than £800 pp for Croatia and that would likely be self catering or breakfast only, so might have to give that one a miss

Antalya in Turkey, for both poolside and sunny + city, but wait until September when it will be cool enough to explore the city.

There's a big price difference between going in July/Aug, and leaving until later in September.

You haven't really said what you're interested in doing but I'm a big fan of Greek islands. Kefalonia is lovely, Chania or Elounda in Crete, I also love Alvor or Tavira in Portugal.

Malaga is lovely too, you have the excitement of a city break but can spend time at the beach as well, either locally or get the train somewhere further afield for the day.

City break - krakow
beach - cheap and cheerful , Salou 2 hours
beach - luxury Kardemena, Kos (PortoBello Royal) 4 hours

Split in Croatia. You can do half a week in split for more of a city break type holiday, and half a week on hvar or Bol for a few days relaxing. Get an airbnb so you can self cater for breakfast/lunch and some dinners if you need to.

We loved split, lovely little town with character and things to see, with a great atmosphere at night. Plenty of boat trips from the harbour. Vineyards for wine tours/tasting. Day trip to krka national park.

We only went for 4-5 days so only did split, but wished we stayed longer to go to hvar or bol - we could easily have put in more time. I'd love to go back, and we don't normally go places more than once simply due to there's so much of the world to see!

https://www.hlapalma.it/en/sky-bar/ I always recommend this place in Stresa, Lake Maggiore. It's fabulous for a short break and there is a shuttle direct to Stresa from Milan Malpensa - about 45 mins. Or Nice and/or one of the surrounding towns - Antibes/Juan Les Pins/Villefranche. Loads to do and beach if you want it. I'd go September though for better prices/less crowds.
