Passport renewal- how long?

Has anyone renewed their passport lately and could tell me how long it took? Thank you!

Two weeks. I applied in April (after strikes had started)

About 10 days

This is giving me hope - just had confirmation they've received my old passport so waiting for the next update.

When I did the application I didn't have any trips in mind, but have since been asked to do a work trip in July... keeping everything crossed for a quick turnaround!

Ohh when did you send?

I think I'm going to have to go to London for an appointment for next day or whatever it is.

Planning to go away around 23rd June 😂

Posted on a tracked service on Friday, had the email last night to confirm they had it.

2 weeks. Applied 19th May and got it on the 2nd.

Honestly if you go away in just under 3 weeks, save yourself the stress and try to get an in person appointment. Yes it could be back but its always unpredictable

I had mine done via post (from Germany) last Autumn (september i think). It took about a month I seem to recall. From what I can understand, the backlogs of last summer haven't re-emerged. This said, I echo the thoughts of the previous poster on this (ie get an in-person appointment if at all possible).

OP, I was at the London passport office today. I booked a 7-day fast track appointment on something like 19th May so if you want to get an appointment, do it fast, they book up incredibly quickly! Peterborough usually has more availability if that's an option.
And the passport office aren't doing same-day passports currently at the on-site offices, or weren't when I last checked the website... eurgh

Mine was 2 weeks as an overseas application. But I wouldnt risk it!!

May be leaving on the 3rd July now and sending it off today... the holiday isn't booked and we were going to book it last minute anyway to try see if we could get a deal.

No biggie if it doesn't arrive! Will go on a winter holiday instead.

So glad that they all seem to be coming back quite promptly. We only realised yesterday that DS' has a child's passport and it runs out in November. He's applied last night and will post off his passport today. Fingers crossed it will come back fairly quickly.

Applied beginning of May came back in under 2 weeks

I renewed mine last month with the standard renewal (so not fast track), and it took 6 days from applying to receiving it (including a day for me to send back my old passport) - was very impressed!

I did mine last month. It took 10 days. Super efficient and constant email updates throughout. Very impressed.

My simple renewal was back in 4 days! Very impressed!
