car seat advice please

Travelling to spain and from all the searches in mumsnet it's clear it would be best to take our own car seat - ours is a reallyy heavy maxi cosi. is it ok to take this or are there specific ones you should get for travelling - if so can anyone recommend one

It is ok to take (presumably a Stage 1?) but if heavy pack it well and check in as oversized luggage.

No it's a stage 2 - the 9 month to 4 year one - really heavy!

Stage 1 is the 9-18kg ! Stage 0/0+ the infant seat.
