What's the difference between Checked Bags and Check-in Bags?

I've booked a flight with Ryanair, and paid to get an extra bag. In our itinerary it says I have a Checked Bag (20kg) and a Check-in Bag (10kg).

What's the difference? Is a "Check-in Bag" another way of saying "Hand Luggage"? Or is Hand Luggage in addition to this?

Does that not mean 2 bags you put in the hold - 1 at 10kg and 1 at 20kg?

OP, do you have Priority Boarding?

If not, you can only take one handbag or laptop bag into the cabin, size 35cm x 20cm x 20cm, which will fit under the set in front.

The 10 kilo check-in bag is the sort you used to be able to take into the cabin and stow in the overhead locker, but which now has to be checked into the hold free of charge.

The 20 kilo checked bag is the usual hold luggage kind of bag, for which you pay extra..

Does that make sense?

I don't think we have priority boarding. So both the 10kg and 20kg bags will go in the hold? Then why is one called "Checked Baggage" and one is called "Check In Baggage"? That's what doesn't make sense.

You check them both in I suppose

8.3.3 If you have paid for a 10kg Check-In Bag (weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm), you can only take one small item of carry-on baggage on the plane. You must deposit the 10kg Check-in Bag at the bag-drop desk before you go through security. When you arrive at your destination, you will collect the bag at the baggage belt. Our regulations on checked-in luggage apply accordingly. The relevant fee is set out in our table of fees.

I think it's that "checked baggage" has always heen the term for bags booked to go in the hold.

Whereas "check in baggage" is a new term for bags that used to be allowed in the cabin but which now also have to be checked into the hold, unless the passenger pays for (the more expensive) Priority Boarding.
