Last week (Friday) DD (18 months) was sent home from nursery with HFMD, saw GP but they couldn’t confirm it (she hardly any spots at that point). We kept her at home and she now seems fine again. Yesterday I found out there was also two cases of CP in her nursery room around the same time she got HFMD.
i was just wondering if anyone had a child that had HFMD then came out with chicken pox two weeks later as we are due to fly to Jamaica on 9th to get married (WD 12th) and this is causing me anxiety with the whole does she have CP or not as I read the incubation period is around 2 - 3 weeks. We have relatives and friends who have paid to go to Jamaica for our wedding and I generally wouldn’t cope if I had to tell them that we weren’t going and they have paid for Jamaica for no reason due to CP.
I used to be air crew so I know the rules around flying with CP, am just curious that if she had HFMD then can she catch CP at the same time and if she had caught it would the spots have shown by now (7 days after potential exposure) given that she was already ill so had a weakened immune system
I’m probably rambling now but haven’t slept since we got the dreaded email from nursery about it
