What time of year is best to visit Nashville in your opinion?

Best time for what? Music/weather/something else?

I visited towards the end of October. Weather was lovely except 1 night where it rained (it doesn’t rain inside the bars!!). The streets never felt too crowded & the attractions I visited were not overly busy.

Well that's why I was looking for opinions really, I have zero preference on when in the year to go so was curious as to what time people think is good and why, didn't want to limit myself just to weather as I can google that.

Next week, for CMA Fest. Great any time, though.

Ah in that case I would probably go for May or September/October time. Hopefully you would miss the summer crowd, have nice weather & still be able to take advantage of cheaper hotel rates.

I found Nashville to be one of the most expensive cities to visit in terms of accommodation costs, but that was a couple of years ago & I know there were many more hotels being built to cope with the demand, so maybe prices have come down.

If you are going for less than a week I would also try to stay over a weekend to really get the atmosphere in the bars. The music scene is phenomenal.

I enjoyed my visit in May. Found hotel prices sky high though, especially over a weekend.

But it's a great city, we walked everywhere, and much preferred it to New Orleans which I personally thought was a total dump!

Thanks everyone, interesting to hear about hotel prices, I looked a couple months ago and wasn't too put off but maybe need to look again. We would be hiring a car and using Uber when we want to drink, that's usually our approach in the US to enable cheaper hotels outside the centre, can always rely on the US to have good parking options!

This is where we stayed and walked downtown every evening, it was always perfectly safe and you have a suite style room.

Prices have gone down a lot since we went last May as well:

IMO, spring or autumn are best on the eastern side of the US. I would definitely avoid summer - very hot and humid.
