Best car hire firm from Alicante or Murcia

We are travelling to Spain in September and will be flying to either Alicante or Murcia. We will need a large car, Skoda Kodiaq size or similar as we need space for a mobility scooter. Also prefer an automatic as that's what we have at home and one of the possible named drivers has an automatic licence.

We've used Gold cars in the past, but they were nothing special, and spectacularly unhelpful last time, so we were wondering which car hire firm others would recommend.

Don't use Goldcars or Interrent, whom they've bought. All the reviews aren't wrong. You'll get more choice of rentals at Alicante, but I love Murcia airport.

Look at a broker called Zest- we have used them in a few different places and haven't been disappointed. They are highly recommended by Which and quoted price includes fully comp insurance. Agree Gold car are spectacularly awful! ( we used them a few years ago in Faro- never again!)

@KnottyKnitting Thanks, I'll take a look at them.

I’ve used zest for over a decade (they used to have a different name, can’t remember it), highly recommended.

Another recommendation for zest likewise I have been using them for years.
l did however use record go rentacar at Alicante airport the year before last and booked direct. They were a very good price by signing up as a member and I selected their inclusive insurance.

Spain has very few autonomics

Whatever you do, don't touch Europcar even with someone else's bargepole. I deal with their shite in my line of work every day.

I've found some excellent deals via Zest, thanks to all who recommended them.
