Any preference for booking direct with airline or through travel agent for NZ?

seem to be splitting hairs a little on booking our 5 week trip to New zealand. There is a difference of £38 extra to book through singapore airlines or go with opodo or trailfinders for £38 less!! Any optional extras..ie..better seats if direct with airline.
Thanks in advance for all advice!

£38 seems little enough for the advantages it might bring. Incidentally, Singapore airlines were magnificant when I travelled to NZ with just the sluglet aged 19 months.

If you change at Singapore, it's worth noting that the airport has a swimming pool. Pack your swimming costumes in your carry on luggage, the towell, shampoo etc comes as part of the entry price. It was the best thing for tiring out a child who had endured a long flight already and needed to get back on another long one.

Which airline are opodo or trailfinders using?.
If for instance its Air NZ you may end up travelling via Los Angeles airport to get to NZ (you really do not want to transit through LAX - nuff said).

I would take the Singapore airlines option personally and go via Changi airport.
