Do you have a recommendation for somewhere memorable for a special meal?

somewhere to dress up and pretend we’re part of Mad Men for an evening? 😁
thank you!

I’m a New Yorker - Le Cou Cou is lovely! And you can book a month out, hate only walk ins.

or Minetta Tavern. Make a phone alarm for 4 weeks out so you can get a table!

Another vote for the River Cafe - fabulous food and surroundings with the Statue of Liberty out the window. ❤️

Yet another vote for the River Cafe, absolutely lovely.

Casa Mono if you like tapas.

Another vote for The Modern. Best meal of my life there. Did come out with an eye watering bill but it was worth every penny.

Following as I’m after restaurant ideas.

Per se is really great and they do an amazing tasting menu if you want something really special. Not sure how easy it is to book though

Yes I also agree with the River Cafe recomendations. Great place!

I wouldn't class Carmine's as 'special' though. Just as I wouldn't class Nandos as an actual proper restaurant. 😂

The River Cafe is amazing, very special views and good lovely too.

Another vote for the Boathouse in Central Park

Another vote for the Modern. We had our post wedding lunch there!

Ai fiori

River Cafe has a great atmosphere.

Our absolute favourite NY restaurant is Tocqueville - it's a beautiful setting and the food is gorgeous.

If you like the speakeasy bar vibe, I would also recommend Employees Only (classy 1920s prohibition theme).

PerryMenno · 26/05/2023 00:46

I'm also following for ideas but wanted to add that the Boathouse on Central Park has been closed for quite awhile.

oh no! Though I’ve done a quick google and it looks like it might open again in the summer post refurb, fingers crossed! Xx
