Flying tomorrow -any tips?

Help please! I'm flying tomorrow on my own for the first time (and haven't flown for about 10 years) 😬. I think I've researched what to do - already checked in so head straight to security, then when gates appears head there. Once landed go through passport control (no bags to collect as hand luggage only).

Anything I'm forgetting? Any tips for a flying novice? I'm flying from stansted with Ryanair.

Make sure that you've got any liquids (toiletries) sorted into a separate plastic bag to remove for security and any large electronic devices, iPad, kindle need to come out too. I have heard there are some super scanners in place in some airports which stops the need for this but I've not met them yet .

Keep an eye on your stuff at all times - including being aware you've popped your phone and passport back into their safe spaces following security . I say this as both my DH and DS have mislaid passports within an airport . They are idiots though Grin

Theirs always sets off the metal detector

And take an empty water bottle with you, there are refill stations after the X-ray/liquid check

You probably won’t have inflight entertainment on a Ryanair short haul, and no drinks or snacks either. You can take onboard any food and drink that you buy in the departure lounge. Take more than you think you’ll need, just in case you get delayed on the tarmac, and don’t forget that you probably won’t be able to get any food or drink until you’ve been through passport. I had a 50+ minute delay getting off the plane earlier this year and was both hangry and thirsty! My own fault!

Check you bags are within Ryanair's sizes!

I always have ear plugs on planes, can't be doing with the noise.

Make sure your bags are within Ryanair limits

Have any liquids in a separate small clear sealable bag

Be ready to remove belts, coats and take out electronics and liquids for security scanning.
