I am thinking about going to either Sharm el Sheikh or Hurghada this autumn, as I want to do the Luxor excursion and this is an easy way to go it. If I go to Sharm I would also be interested in St Catherine's and maybe the Petra trip too.
I have been to Sharm el Sheikh a few times (last time was 10 years ago though). So I don't know what it's like now after the Russian plane crash killed their tourism a few years ago.
Is it a nice place to go these days? Is it safe for a woman alone in her 30s? I know there can be some hassle in the towns to buy things from markets etc, but is there anything else I should bear in mind?
