Looking at Birkelt village. Never been to Luxembourg, flights very affordable as is Birkelt village.. Anyone been? The country itself looks very alpine & pretty. Luxumbourg city also looks beautiful.

We went to Luxembourg about six years ago. It's beautiful and everything seemed to be so well kept.
We stayed at this site in the poshest static caravan I have ever set foot in. I think it had air con and electric shutters and was immaculate. There was lots of space between the units too.

The only thing I can clearly remember doing in Luxembourg was going to this park. It's huge, very well kept and beautiful.

All public transport in Luxembourg is free for all to use.

We stayed at Birkelt village last year with a toddler. We thought he was a bit young to get the most out of the site, so your children being older would be good. Luxembourg is a lovely country for a week. Depends what you’re into. Lots of castles and pretty villages. If history’s your thing then there is a lot to offer, go to Trier in Germany, or north into Belgium to see war sites. We cycled up the Moselle valley which is beautiful. We took our own bikes, but I’m sure there would be somewhere to hire them. There’s lots of walking on the Mullerthal trail. Luxembourg City is worth a visit, but there wouldn’t be that much to see and do in comparison to other capital cities. As our DS was still quite young, we didn’t do any kid specific things, so can’t recommend anything on that side of things. I would recommend it, we had a lovely week there.

@SJW58 thank you so much! We think we're going to give it a try. Somewhere different!
