Passport application help

I am applying for a first passport for DD. I am British and DH (DD’s dad) is from
an EU country. What details and documents do I need to send with the application apart from DD birth certificate and photos? It’s mentioning grandparents DOB and marriage etc if either parent was born outside the UK.
As I’m British by birth, do I need these? Any help appreciated as we need the passport asap. Thanks.

You only need your passport details and the child's birth certificate. Are you doing an online application? You can take photos with your phone and then a countersignature will be required so you'll need that person's email details as that will be done online too.

Thank you @dementedpixie. My passport has expired, can I still use the details? It’s a paper application.

Tbh I'd renew yours at the same time and send the info for both passports in the same envelope.
It's cheaper to do online applications, why are you doing a paper one?
Or do your renewal first online and then do your dc's application.

We have a fast track appointment so it has to be a paper application. We need it for DD to travel asap.

Are you renewing yours too?
I dont know if you need your passport to be valid to use it as part of her application or whether it just needed to be valid when she was born.
Maybe you need to phone and ask them

Yes, think I do. Thanks.

I sent off for my kids with my current passport number and the expired one of their father. They came through fine but I don't know if it was because mine was valid or if it doesn't matter as it is still traceable on the system.

Yes if your passport has expired, you will need to send off/provide your yours and and your parents birth info for both you and his dad if his is also expired. My cousin was going to have to do this and she and ex partner and their parents all born in UK . In end she re renewed her passport first as was just easier.
