Packing Cubes & EasyJet Under Seat Bag Recommendations

We always travel light when holidaying and roll clothes to fit in backpacks/case - I’ve seen a few advertisements for packing cubes do they give even more space or is rolling just as good? I also need to find a small underseat bag for our holiday in September any suggestions please - under £40?

I love packing cubes. They make life so easy, and they basically work as drawers when you unpack. I have loads so I can organise and find things daily.

Double zipped compression ones are ideal if you're pushed for space. You fill them up and zip them normally, then a second zip pulls the cube together and flattens the thing to half it's depth.

Easily, not daily!

Wow those look great thanks so much and they’ll last ages I should imagine 😊

I've tried the compression packing cubes, & didn't like them. They crease the contents badly, & importantly the contents will still weight the same.
I wonder how I managed without p.c. ! I've a number of different sizes/colours, so it's easy to find what you want. They're particularly good for touring holidays as you only need to unpack a few clothes at each hotel.

I bought this Cabin Max one. Looks pretty but I think it’s poorly designed. Most of the pockets are inside so you have to show everyone your dirty clothes when you want something. The outside one has separators that aren’’t big enough for most things. It’s also “ firm” so if you overfill you’re oversized.

I have a brilliant rucksack with three deep pockets on the outside. It fits underneath but is soft. So you can use the straps around the sides to tighten it or it just sort of fits the required shape.

Vela 30L Holdall - 45x36x20cm

45x36x20cm design is perfect for avoiding extra hand luggage fees on airlines like easyJet. Wear as a shoulder bag, carry by the top handles or combine with your rolling luggage via the rear handle pass-through. 30L internal capacity with laptop, iPad...

My son does a tight rolling thing with his clothes. The ends turn over themselves and you basically get little cylinders of neatness. Also it’s so tight that clothes need no ironing. It’s amazing watching him pack.

Amazon Basics have some decent packing cubes in different sizes. I like using them to keep things organised in my luggage. Makes it easier to find things. Smile

Thanks for all the suggestions the mini max case and the hold-all look ideal. I love buying travelling bags but all the current ones I have are too big. I imagine I should have to be careful not to overfill the compression bags as my luggage would get quite heavy.

@Marchintospring do you have a link to the backpack please?

Have a look at CabinMax Metz backpack. It is the exact size for Ryanair underseat.

The CabinMax Greenwich is slightly bigger and has wheels, it is exact size for Easyjet underseat.

I don't bother with packing cubes, but I do use zip bags that I got in the Tiger shop. They have a proper zip and are opaque. I separate different items in each bag, and it makes it far easier to dig out what I need. Also handy if you want to hide the knickers and dirty socks on the way back!
