I am going in a few months. This may seem really silly but I have been goggling and Hungary has their own currency but do also accept Euros. For anyone that has been there, which is best to take that everywhere will accept? I prefer cash over card so I can track my spending

It’s best to have local currency. I lived there and although it was a while ago I don’t remember using Euros.

We used local currency when we were there last year. We mainly used card but did also get it out from a cash machine.

Forints. Definitely take some cash, but you can also use a card like Monzo or Starling for low fee (much much lower than cash from the post office in my experience) transactions in supermarkets, hotels etc.

Have a lovely trip!

Been twice, & euros were not generally acceptable.

I found that shops mostly accepted euros but always gave change in forints.

We went a couple of years ago and mostly paid with cards. We had a small amount of currency. Don't remember them taking euros. Ditto Prague.
