Due to travel there at the end of the month and when we booked the holiday were told it would be about 25 degrees which would be lovely however my forecast says it's only 19 degrees during the day now!

I know there are averages and things change but it would be useful to know.

Thank you.

Are you going to the north or the south of the island? There’s only one weather station and it gives the weather for the north, but it’s often much better in the south.
having said that, I go over a few times a year and I’d be very surprised if it’s was 19 degrees at the end of May. It’s possible, but it’s usually high twenties at that time of year as a minimum.

sunsetoranges · 19/05/2023 23:41

@Philomenacunk1 thank you!

It's south- as you look at the island on a map it's to the left of the airport!

What day/date do you go there? I wouldn’t trust a weather forecast more than 5-6 days out.

I completely understand your disappointment though - I decided not to go on a holiday I’d booked (to Malta) earlier this year because it was 17 degrees against a historic average for the time of year of ~22 degrees. I need warm weather!

Xrays · 20/05/2023 09:06

Watching with interest! We’re going at the end of June and I’m getting a bit twitchy about the weather. It is no where near as hot as the holiday sites say it is!

cocksstrideintheevening · 20/05/2023 09:14

My friend got back yesterday and said the weather was lovely.

princesslouloubananahammock · 20/05/2023 09:14

Also going half term week and was wondering the same!

cocksstrideintheevening · 20/05/2023 09:15

Bbc is saying 24/25 and sunny at the start of the month

My friend got back yesterday and said the weather was lovely.

She might be one of those people who think lovely is 17 degrees though..

Vyvyan13 · 20/05/2023 09:21

When I lived there the weather really started to ramp in temperature in May, it’s so beautiful there anyway I wouldn’t worry about the weather…

They always get it wrong anyway! Go and enjoy the magical island 🏝️ x

Lovely to me is min 24 ish. Lovely to my friend would be 17/18. I’d be really disappointed to go on holiday somewhere and it be low 20s.

woollymammal · 20/05/2023 09:26

my 24 yr old niece is there now with a group of friends and in the photos she's posting on the family chat they are all sunbathing, having cocktails in the pool, lots of folk standing in swim up bars etc.

gogohmm · 20/05/2023 09:27

Yes recently got back, 23 in the day but needed a jacket for outside evening entertainment.

It's currently cooler, something to do with the jet stream, Italy has torrential rain!

Augustone · 20/05/2023 19:18

I went for a few days after Easter and the week before i went, the weather forecast was showing rain every day and around 14 degrees. I almost cried, it was my first time abroad since 2018.
Happy to report that it changed and was a very lovely 22/23 degrees and wall to wall sunshine.

Basically, things change!!

sunsetoranges · 22/05/2023 17:50

Thank you- go 31st May.

My fingers are crossed!

We are going in 2 days time and the forecast just looks awful. Wall to wall rain and thunderstorms. I'm gutted for the kids. Our little one has just had heart surgery and it's her 1st time abroad she is so excited.

How long are you going for? It looks like it brightens up a bit by Saturday!

That’s ages away - you can definitely discount forecasts at this stage! Fingers crossed it’s great weather :)

@katkinsella are you there yet?

The weather in Ibiza looks good (apart from Saturday). I'm also travelling to southern Spain so constantly checking weather app

Lincslady53 · 24/05/2023 19:03

It is poor weather across a lot of Southern Spain/ Balearics at the moment. We have had this week in Benalmedina and the Algarve (I know its Portugal) for out last 2 holidays and both were lovely, sunny but not too hot. Going to Mallorca in 2 weeks and the comments coming back are generally disappointed from holidaymakers, but the residents are relieved to see some rain, as it has been very dry in recent months with reservoirs being very low. Hope the weather picks up soon.

Anyone there yet to give a true report?!

I'll update next Thursday.

We go tomorrow so will try and update once arrived

Nat4819 · 26/05/2023 10:17

Am here at the moment, yesterday it was lovely and sunny in the morning (low 20s but felt hotter if directly in the sun) then there was a big thunderstorm around 1pm - it lasted for about 20/30 mins then everyone was back on the Sun loungers. It was quite cloud covered for the rest of the afternoon but still relatively warm. Today is due to be around 24/25 and no rain so heading to the pool now!

fedupallthisrubbish · 26/05/2023 15:59

Hiya

We are going tomorrow - will the children need wet suits? Or will we be ok?

I hate the cold .... also if the swimming pools are too cold my children won't play in the water 😂 so debating whether to take them or not 🤪

Fingers crossed the sun comes out 🤞

Hope everyone has a fun holiday 🤩

Nat4819 · 26/05/2023 17:30

Update - today was a beautiful day, mid 20s but felt hotter in the sun, spent the entire day by the pool and only left just now. Tomorrow is meant to be similar.

Re kids and wetsuits, if the weather stays like today then you probably wouldn't need them, but not sure what the forecast is like for next week.
