hi, we're taking my 9mo son to brighton for two days this weekend. I myself have never stayed in a hotel, do I have to bring ready made bottles? how can I clean bottles and are there any things about hotels with babies that I should know? that you don't think about unless you've been there yourself? writing this in a rush as he is moaning to go out! thank you

Most hotels have a kettle so you can make formula using the hot shot method (add some hot water then top up to the correct volume with cold water). I take readymade as well for out and about during the day. You can just use readymade for the whole time if you prefer.

You can use cold water sterilising tablets in the sink or a large tupperware to sterilise the bottles. Take a bottle brush and small dishwash detergent or milk buster spray (I had a free sample of the later which we have used while travelling).

I've found we have to be quite organised in the evenings to get the bottles done before bed as you can't make much noise after they go to bed.

Also make sure there is a suitable cot and check if you have to bring bedding. Most places we've stayed so far have provided a decent travel cot with mattress but the last one just had one of those very hard bases which was also not very flat and we weren't happy using it. Luckily we had brought our own one as well.
