Looking for holiday ideas, like to drive and get the ferry, we’ve done a few places in France before and also Bruges. Quite fancy a city break again but I don’t like driving in busy cities (although we would only be driving there, getting about by foot/public transport once there) Where have you
driven to with a nice easy drive?

We did a driving tour of the Dordogne and loved it.

That sounds lovely, do you remember where you stayed? How many nights?

Hmm, last year we drove to the southern tip of Sweden (via the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark). It was fantastic and very easy 'technically' but sounds like you may not be looking to cover as many miles as we did!

That sounds lovely too, maybe next time! How long did you go for? Did you go to Copenhagen?

Ypres, Belgium and surrounding villages, Menin Gate, Talbot House etc.

We did the overnight ferry to Rotterdam from Harwich and then went to Duinrell near Amsterdam (brilliant for the DC), it's only about 45mins-1hr to Amsterdam from the port. We drove around a bit in the Netherlands and it was easy driving and interesting places within easy reach.

The whole lot in 9 days, a bit crazy! Mainly it was an excuse to go to Legoland (3 small DC). We had 36 hours in Copenhagen.

Even if you don't want to go on such an epic trip, I can recommend the Harwich-Hook of Holland ferry and an explore of the Netherlands.

If not wanting to drive too far, Zeeland is gorgeous - lots of lovely little towns and sandy beaches. Tie in with other Dutch cities or Duinrell/Efteling. 2nd the Dordogne. Brittany and Normandy. I live in Belgium so we have driven many, many places over the years. Most of France, Germany, the Italian Lakes etc.

We drove to Vienna once. Stopped off in France and Swizerland on the way there and in Germany on way back.
We also had a holiday in Germany, drove down the Rhine to the black forest for a few days then to Lindau for a week, both beautiful. I loved Germany.

Lille -France
Annecy - France
Duinrell - Holland
Center parks - Holland
Loire valley - France
Dijon - France

I’d worry about the mountain roads through Switzerland, were they ok?

So many other ideas for me to research thank you, I’m going to look all these places up
