August city break ideas

Two or three nights child free in august. Part of me thinks we should just stay in the UK and go to somewhere like Oxford to save travel money and cost but also tempted to go abroad. DH gets way too hot in southern Europe in August so I don’t think Barcelona, Rome etc would be a good idea. We’ve been to Amsterdam, Prague, Copenhagen and Budapest (loved them all) - am I missing another obvious other choice?

Just spotted there’s a very similar thread on European cities started earlier today so just will look there! 😂

Vienna is lovely in August.

Krakow, Utrecht, Oslo (though wine prices are eye-watering), Cologne

Munich (tho can get scorcio in August, end August usually less so)

Another vote for Helsinki.

Porto, it's usually around 25 degrees in the height of summer, has it's own little microclimate that makes it much cooler than the rest of Portugal.

Ooh @TeamGeriatric I didn’t know anything about Porto but the more I read the more I like the sound of it!
