Cheap Last Minute June Holiday: Longhaul?

Looking to go away for 7-10 nights in June. Going to use a BA 2-4-1 and avios in economy to make the flights cheap.

Want: a bit of beach, some history, good food. We usually go to Italy, Greece, or Spain. A bit bored of that so looking for somewhere long haul maybe.

Mauritius? Antigua? Aruba?
We are happy to self cater for part of the trip, and we don't required 5* hotels.

Depends want you want from your holiday and the time of year. Been to Mauritius and it is their winter June to August. The sea is cooler but not cold like the European seas. Lots of sunshine and bursts of rain too. I've also been to the Caribbean in summer months and the sea temperature is very warm. It is nearer to the Equator and will be a lot warmer than Mauritius.
Every place is different, it would be so boring if they were all the same and see it for what it is instead of going for sunshine alone.

BA fly direct to several Caribbean destinations. You might need to see what’s actually available. Do they go to Aruba?

You could try Boston and then drive to Cape Cod. We went to Washington and then drove down the Blue Ridge mountains. There’s also a lot to see around Philadelphia too. Or try Denver and head into Colorado.

Oops!!! Missed the cheap requirement! Ignore my ideas!

We’re going to the west coast of Mauritius flying with BA around then. Weather looks ok. We’ve got a Villa through Airbnb and it’s worked out to be pretty reasonable-as in cheaper than a week in Italy.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Mauritius seems so much more reasonable than the Caribbean. Food seems a lot cheaper too.
