Madrid in June

My two sisters and I are spending a long weekend in Madrid early June. We’re staying close to the Royal Palace so I think we’re well placed? We’re definitely not in the first flush of youth - though we often think we are!!!
We would love any recommendations for eating out, drinking spots to people watch and places to see…
Thanks 🇪🇸

Mercado de San Miguel is nice.

Museo Prada. One of the top art galleries in the world. There’s plenty to see! Also Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

Tour of the Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid.

Plaza del Toros Las Ventas for atmosphere. Basilica Francisco el Grande. Retiro Park.

Have a good time. Buy a guide book (Lonely Planet) and plan your time.

Love Madrid! One of my favourite cities. Head to the Reina Sofia - it’s an incredible gallery that has Picasso’s Guernica.

Yes to this, and to the Reina Sofia to see Guernica.
Madrid is a lovely city just to mooch about in, soaking up the atmosphere and trying all the lovely food. Enjoy!

We went last June and it was roasting hot. So cool clothes, comfy shoes and a hat.

Following, also heading out next month! Staying a bus ride away from the centre as the price difference was vast.

The Reina Sofia is (or was) free on Friday evenings which makes up for the nastiest staff in the city.

Madrid just has a great vibe tbh. Wander round the Plaza Mayor, Callao, the Gran Via.

Just love it. ❤️
