Have looked on the site and it says you can fly but describes it as fly drive, so does that mean the airports are all very far from the parcs ?

The parcs and prices look ideal for us.

i suspect it would be a slog without a car. but if you did find one near a train station and a village it might just be doable.

Hmmm maybe not then.

Was thinking if one was near enough to an airport we couod get a taxi, but they all look too far away.

you would also need access to a decent shop unless you want to spend 2 weeks eating croissant, bagette and overpriced packaged ham from the site shop.

Think you'd feel pretty limited without transport. What are the transfer times it quotes ?

nutcracker · 18/02/2008 17:41

Depends Liz but over an hour I think.

Will have to think of something else.

We stayed at Keycamp (Garden Paradiso), near Venice, perfectly do-able as public transport is so fantastic in Italy.

i am sure for nearly the same money you could get a nice apartment in a town. where do you want to go?

nutcracker · 18/02/2008 17:56

Not sure where we want to go.

I have looked at apartments, but then you don't get any activities for the kids or anything.

Hello I think you should call Eurocamp/keycamp dierctly and ask. I worked for them for 3 years and there are some sites that are poss to get to without transport.

Just found out from old colleagues that if you fly they arrange taxi transfer from aiport to the campsite Check this link eurocamp.holidaytaxis.com/?ref=eur

We're going to Portofelice (in Eurocamp brochure too!) this year with Camping Life - tesco vouchers whayhey!! Anyway, have booked flights (BA were the cheapest!!) and have contacted the campsite - we can get a bus from the airport directly to a bust stop outside the campsite! Alternatively they've told us how much to pay for a taxi to the campsite so we don't get ripped off. They told us not to prebook anything as it's more expensive. We picked that site as it's got so much for the kids (not what I would pick without kids IYSWIM) right ona beach, what looks like a huge supermarket, and it's walking distance to the town. With of course a bus stop outside campsite gates! So (hopefully) it is do-able. They also do trips etc if you're into that or get buses to Venice etc.

We've camped in France for years and don't think any of the sites - apart from Acapulco in St jean de Monts would have been doable without a car. Don't know how much transport from Nantes to St jean de Momts would be though. Acapulco is walking distance to a beach, supermarket, bars, rstuarants etc and has fab faciliities onsite. Can hire bikes as flat around there. They also do trips to Puy de Fou etc and other attractions. Next door to Clarys Plage so that's another option.

Once you've picked your site - contact them directly as it may be cheaper to book direct than through Eurocamp. They could also sort u out with transport or give you info probably.
