Looking for somewhere around the £900ish per person mark for a week in June.

We have an 11 month old baby too. Looking for somewhere that’s as luxurious as possible for the budget (we usually do Dubai/Sani) but I appreciate the budget won’t get us this same standard! Would be nice to be able to leave the hotel and have a nice area to walk around with shops and restaurants close by.

Not too bothered about amazing beaches or there being lots to explore.

Not bothered about length of flight.

Main priorities are lovely hotel with a nice pool area and a nice location for an evening walk.

Current possibilities are the Gran Melia in Tenerife or Lopesan Baobab in Gran Canaria.

If anyone has any experiences of these two hotels I’d love to hear too!

Flying from where? It’s often the flight price that makes the difference.

Happy to fly from Manchester, Birmingham, Heathrow, Luton and East Midlands!

Contessina Hotel, Zante.
Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort, Lanzarote.

Both lovely and about your price range for B&B in June.

Also Lopesan is lovely and clean. Only stayed for 4 nights though.

Thank you! Where would you say is the nicest out of the two you’ve suggested and the Lopesan?

Was there much to do outside of the hotel at the Lopesan?

Princesa Yaiza was great. Good food, spa, decent calibre of fellow holidaymaker!

We went to Lopesan Baobab with our 10 month old and it was amazing! Seriously recommended. The hotel is lovely and impressive, fantastic food and attentive staff, and they couldn't do enough for our son. The hotel is a short walk from a few shops and the beach, and there are bars and restaurants there for lunch/drink while the baby naps. We really loved it and will go again. There are several very good restaurants - do half board at least - with freshly cooked meat, fish, salads, amazing puddings. It was so easy to pick a plate of things for our son to eat - he loved passion fruit and ate a billion orange segments!

The rooms have a sort of separate area as you go in, by the bathroom, and the cot they give you is on wheels, so in the evenings we put him there with white noise on and the lights off and either sat watching tv on a laptop or on the balcony with a drink. You could also take a snooze shade cot cover if you want to have the lights on.

@QuickNameChangeForMeToday I would be interested to know what this hotel and the surrounding area is like please?

I saw they had a fairly good deal and it had good reviews on T/A I also watched a You tube video of the hotel but was put off it by the very young, very slim perfect people in the video and wondered whether it was maybe the target clientele were mainly the a younger, slim and beautiful instagramable crowd? We are late 50’s and not that slim 😂

DH and I are 40/50’s and I’m certainly not slim. It was a real mix of families, couples and a few groups of friends - all ages.

Out the hotel was a large car park when we arrived I worried it was too far out but it’s a 5min walk to a mini shopping centre/restaurants and beach. 5min more into centre of town and lots of the usual eateries etc. Very much a sunbathe, swim, wander and eat destination.

Was coming on to say Lopesan Baobab. Might be slightly over budget but it's amazing. We've been 6 times, before children and with. It's a lovely hotel, loads of pools so you don't get bored, staff are all so friendly and child friendly and it's a brilliant location to walk out. We always highly recommend the hotel!

Did you find anything and where did you decide on?
