Holiday topless sunbathing 2023

Hi there

we are due to go on holiday to Spain this year and I usually sunbathe topless.

this year we are going with my family (my parents, sister and her husband and kids plus my husband and children).

My mum used to sunbathe topless when we were kids and i plan to do the same this year- what people’s thoughts on this?

my husband is fine with it and our kids are totally used to it. my sisters kids are both girls ages 8 and 10.

does anyone think this is an issue?

I wouldn't in front of my parents and brother in law. But you'll know your family and whether it would be ok.

The people that may have an issue are your BIL and maybe your Dsis. I don’t know what I’d do if they objected though!

Crikey I'm really not body conscious, nude a lot at home but no way would I do this around my family.

Plus awful potential sun damage on your boobs. They will go all wrinkly

I wouldn't sunbathe topless in front of my BIL or my dad and my DH would be mortified if either of SILs did it front of him. He'd just go in and hide in the room.

There are some pretty skimpy bikini tops OP - I'd get one of those if you don't want tan lines. Be considerate - it's not your kids that are going to care.

Wow what a shame and surprise from everyone’s response, so it’s only ok to go topless if you do t know anyone else there? What is the big deal? Men go topless so why can’t women. We as women need to stop this myth that our breasts should remain hidden away, only to be exposed for mens gratification.
If all women went topless anywhere men did the world would be a much better place for all women!

Only you know how they will feel about it. I wouldn't but then I wouldn't at any time just go strapless.

Topless or not it's your decision however on recent holidays I've noticed that women don't seem to go topless anymore. Certainly not around the hotel pool and not really at the beach.

Maybe it's because we are more aware of sun damage now. I remember in the 70/80s you would always see a lot of topless women on the beaches in Spain.

Is it much of a done thing these days?

Can’t think of much more cringey than either being topless in front of my BIL (or parents and sister for that matter!). I’d also think it was weird for my sister to go topless in front of my husband. It would just be strange!

I went to nudist beaches with DSis and BIL.... also with my DDs, who've both grown up to be very unselfconscious about their bodies.

However, I can't imagine I'd have ever done it in front of my parents, never ever saw them undressed!

You can buy bikinis now that are like a piece of string I’d consider one of these rather than going topless in front of extended family members.

More seriously, when I was a kid we used to go on holiday with my best friend and his family, both our Dads loved surfing so we ended up going on holiday together, a few families.

My friends mum used to sunbathe topless, my friend used to cringe so hard about it. I don't think he'd have cared if he wasn't with his friends though. If your away with family, your kids may care about it more than they usually do.

I reckon your sister is most likely of the adults to have an issue with it. Most men aren't so obsessed with tits that they can't avoid staring at them if they want to, so I doubt your BIL would have an issue, but your sister may have a problem about you being topless around her husband.
