Triple rooms. 3 beds?

Why don’t hotels specify exactly what they mean by a triple room? I’m taking my 19 year old son and 15 year old daughter on holiday (with just me) but I don’t want to share a bed with either of them so a double plus one single is no good.

Why don’t hotels actually say that there are 3 separate beds? 2 adults plus one child isn’t always a couple and a child. 😞

I worked in hotels for a while and the majority of the time it’s a couple and child.
Also 3 separate beds takes up a lot more room than a double and a single/sofa bed because of the space needed to walk around them.

You would be better looking for family rooms and looking at ones that offer bunk beds and a double. At least then you get a bed each.

Many hotels list triples. 3 single needs. I know so because I go on a European city long weekend break with 2 friends every year and have done for over 10 years and have stayed in triples in Berlin, Krakow, Dubrovnik, Bruges, Lisbon, and more. Why are you struggling to find? How are you searching?
