Alpine elements Summer holiday Morzine

We are thinking about going to Morzine, France with alpine elememts in the summer. (flying into Geneva in Switzerland)

Traveling with active adventurous 12 and 11 year old girls and their 8 year old cousin.

Has anyone done similar and can recommend (or not)

We would stay in a catered chalet, but wouldnt have a car.

Is walking / bus / the ski lifts etc all easily doable? Are the busses regular?

Is the weather nice in late July / early August?

It looks likes loads of fun.

Any comments / experiances appreciated

We go to the French Alps regularly for summer adventure holidays. Weather is mostly glorious - hot but fresh and comfortable. Occasionally a brief summer electrical thunderstorm. We always drive - so don’t use the public transport and haven’t been to Morzine - so not loads of help for you. If your hotel / agency pre books all of the activities for you then maybe they arrange transport ? Or activities are pretty local in the resort?

We’ve been, it’s very well serviced for public transport and chairlifts, cabins etc. if you’re in a hotel (catered chalet might be included) you can get a travel pass for all the lifts, plus some of the buses, I think we paid €22 each for 4 days, or maybe a bit more, but it was very good value for money and a lot less than a ski pass.

Activities are lots of mountain biking, both electric and not, climbing and paragliding. There is also a sports centre with pools, tennis courts, ice rink, horse riding etc., plus of course you can simply hike. Plenty of restaurants in the town and up the mountain. Lots of Brits so you will find many places speak English. Unfortunately this also means some places get rowdy because of the drinking but it’s concentrated mainly in the town centre.
