We have a wedding to go to near Strasbourg in August and would like to spend aroubd a week discovering the area. Can anyone recommend any nice towns, villages and hotels in the region?

It really beautiful there. I went many many years ago but Colmar was gorgeous. You could do a route du vin through local vineyards.

Definitely Colmar - it’s gorgeous. We went with the dc and they liked the Musée du Jouet. We also stayed a couple of nights at Europa Park just over the border in Germany and would highly recommend visiting for at least a day.

Strasbourg itself is lovely and Colmar is gorgeous.

Just you or any kids? Europa parc isn't far, we preferred it to Disney

Colmar is also beautiful

The Chateau Haut-Koenigsbourg is gorgeous and worth a visit. Lots of vinyards to visit and wine to try.

Strasbourg is lovely! Can recommend Hotel Boma. I was really pleasantly surprised at what a nice city it was. Colmar also really pretty - we stayed at the Le Colombier in Little Venice. Very nice restaurants. Freiburg is very nice according to DH who goes there a lot for work.

Basically any village around Colmar, near Strasbourg, is lovely! Can recommend Hôtel du Mouton in Ribeauvillé, but also look at Riquewihr and Eguisheim. The Alsace is amazing.

I’d agree with other posters above about EuropaPark - with or without kids - and Chareau Haut-Kœnigsbourg for visits
