What do I do with my phone poolside?

We’re going on our first ever all inclusive in august. It’s going to be hot and the kids will want to spend the whole time by the pool/waterpark/beach. What do we do with our stuff while we’re in the pool/sea? Im happy to leave towels, hats, suncream etc on the lounger but what about our phones? The safest thing would obviously be to leave them in the room but I’ll want to take photos. What does everyone do?

Hide them in the bags 🤷‍♀️

Waterproof pouch like when surfing/SUPing

I bought one of these for last summer: Portable Mini Cipher Box Indoor/Outdoor Lock Box - Secure Your Belongings During Travel https://amzn.eu/d/5EAKel2

Could fit phones, kindle, keys, documents - really handy for going in pool/going for lunch. Usually looped around the sunbed.

I use a waterproof pouch.

At the bottom of our bag. Bag was underneath the lounger and I had my pool dress thrown over it as well.

I usually put my phone and kindle in a large cosmetic bag in my beach bag.

Leave it in your room? Why do you need a phone by the pool?

thirdistheonewiththehairychest · 03/05/2023 21:12

Oh photos. Maybe take some pics on the first day, then leave it in your room after that and kick back and enjoy yourself.

We just put ours in the bottom of the bag all mixed up with other stuff. An opportunistic thief is only going to steal something they can grab on the sly, not something they need to rummage for. We usually have a chat with people sitting near us as well if they seem friendly types so they'd hopefully notice if any unknown started messing with our stuff!

Waterproof pouch round your neck. Terrifying the first time you use them but after id dunked it without my phone in a few times to test it and it gained my trust it actually came in v handy! My room keycard and money fit inside too so no worries about leaving anything unattended except towels. Think I paid £12 on amazon for 4 so me and my sons all used them constantly.

Thanks everyone. Waterproof pouch purchased!
