Please give me ideas for fun days out for a 9&10 year old over the summer. We're based just South of London, but up for staying over a night or two and mixing big days out with cheaper, local suggestions.

Book a YH in Shropshire.
Spend a day at the Black Country Museum

Walk on the Long Mynd

Go to Iron Bridge and associate sites

Potentially visit https://www.wmsp.co.uk/

Depending on how much you want to spend - could easily use up a week then, or pick and choose for a shorter break

Get the train to Swanage. Then get the steam train to Corfe Castle and explore.

Day out at Bournemouth. Go along to Sandbanks beach (bus) and get the ferry to Brownsea Island for walks and red squirrels . Day out in Brighton.

Leeds Castle in Kent. Canterbury and the cathedral. Broadstairs and Kent coast. New Forrest and Lymington. Ferry to Isle of Wight - Cowes. Petworth in West Sussex. Petworth House and Arundel Castle. Weald and Downland museum at Singleton, West Sussex.

Nearer home: Greenwich! Have a fun time planning.

Agree with a pp about the Weald & Downland Living Museum. We went there some years ago and it is lovely. It's where they do the tv filming for The Repair Shop.
