Hi , has anyone been to Antigua at Christmas with a teen aged 17? If so was it worth it
I’m thinking about it but need to ensure that there’s plenty to see and do
Thankyou

I haven’t been at Christmas but we went last year and it exceeded all our expectations

Things to do with a 17yo…

Swimming with the pigs (google ‘Antigua pigs in paradise’ or look them up on Instagram)
Sting ray city and the rare tortoise sanctuary and breeding project
The zip line through the jungle
Snorkle safari and desert island picnic with Coco Vibes (also on insta)
Horse riding and swimming in the sea with them

Its an insanely beautiful island, great food, incredibly safe and welcoming, and easy to get around.

Where are you looking at staying? What kind of budget?
Jolly Harbour has some AI hotels (some have shocking reviews), but it also has lots of holiday rentals. It is a gated community just for holiday makers so feels very safe but a little 'disneyfied'.

English Harbour is a bit more upmarket and has the amazing world heritage site of Nelson's Dockyard. Really fascinating. Has a lovely beach at Pigeons Point.

Dickenson's Bay is the most built up/touristy area, and it has a gorgeous beach.

We stayed at Carlisle Bay, which was amazing for our kids (under 7s) but probably wouldn’t be as much to do for older kids

we have some friends that have been with teens and they stayed at the Royalton and the verandah, and said both were great

I’ve stayed at English Harbour Town and Dickenson Bay and I much prefer English Harbour Town. Dickenson Bay is too touristy and a bit lowmarket (if that’s a word).
