French Campsites

We have had a terrible year and I'm looking at booking somewhere in the North of France for a week at the end of July. I was going to go with Eurocamp but it seems to be a real struggle to book anything sensible with the ferry times etc. I have started looking at French companies booking campsites direct and there is more choice and flexibility and it's so much cheaper which is great (will book ferry separately).

I don't know why, but I'm a bit nervous of booking things separately. We have had really bad experiences with cancelled flights and 2 upset children stranded at an airport pre covid. Last year, we stayed with family abroad which was really lovely. Our eldest has ASD so travel is always a bit of a drama, but if the campsite has a pool and is close to the beach he will be grand.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the Normandy area? Looking at Newhaven to Dieppe ferry to minimise driving.

Yes Yelloh Campsites are super and they have a lovely one in Luc sur Mer.

There is a bus outside that will bring you into Caen if you want (from where you can get a fast train to Paris!). We hired bikes and cycled a lot. Visited the wonderful war museums all over.

It was really really clean with fab swimming pool. There's a Supermarket across the road. All in all a great site. It's in the Town and one day there qas a fab burger truck outside and another day a pizza van.

We were there in low season so it was very quiet but the location was great.

Camping Le Cormoran is right on the beach. We had some gorgeous weather when we went and it was perfect. One of the pools is under cover and can be heated in case of bad weather.

Brittany ferries do campsite & ferry deals that can be good value

Thanks everyone. Had a look at some options and I feel a bit more relaxed.
