Rome accommodation - any recommendations?

I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the options, so would love some recommendations please. Looking for a mid-range hotel in Rome for me, DH and DD (9). We're planning on sightseeing, but needn't be right in the thick of it. I'd love to hear of any places that you might have stayed at that you would recommend, or equally any areas to avoid.

This is lovely, in trastevere so you're well positioned for bars and restaurants in quaint cobbled streets, about 15min walk to the main sights and centre.
We stayed there last year, totally faultless.

I’ve got one for you!! Check out Domus Sessoriana… stunning hotel… great location, 15 min walk from the very centre… good value. Also a nice park nearby
rooftop terrace for breakfast!

We stayed at the Best Western Plus just outside the Vatican walls. For the location it was cheap as chips. From there we could walk right into the centre through Trastevere and it was just beautiful being able to wander round St.Peters in the evening when the masses of tourists had gone. Good and dirt cheap restaurants galore as well in the area.

Albergo del Senato, right by the Pantheon. You can walk everywhere from there.

Stayed here recently. Lovely hotel, clean and right by Piazza de Popolo. Would definitely stay here again.

River Palace Hotel

Hotel Artemide Amazing!!!!!

I second this - incredible! You have to book direct for a family room I believe though.
