Hello all,
My dad's father was Polish and I'd like to go over there and see a bit of the country. Where would be a good place to start? We have never been because I have a stupid level of embarrassment about having a Polish name and a Polish passport but not speaking any Polish (I am trying to learn, it's not going well)... My sons are 3.5 and six months and we'd probably start with a long weekend this summer. I am quite interested in the Gdansk/Gdynia area because my older son likes the beach and the water and I like eating fish but there may be better areas! Ideally we'd fly from Stansted. Our typical holiday would be staying somewhere self-catering, pottering about looking at things, going to a playground or a beach for the older boy, going out for breakfast/lunch/early tea and then having an evening in for lack of babysitter!
