Visa USA

Hi,
I've looked online and totally confused. Looking at booking a trip to the US as a family of 4. Do you still need to apply separately for a visa or can you get a family visa? I'm assuming we will all need one separately at something like $160 each. Is this right?
Thanks

Most people are eligible for an ESTA. That's something like 12 dollars each.

*That should say most people who are U.K. citizens

Apply for an ESTA each (use the official site only). It links with your passport. Fill it in very carefully and really you should do it before you pay for your holiday. There are certain reasons why you'd be refused and then it's the long hard visa route.

Are you UK nationals?

As pp says, you need an ESTA for each person. You can do it all on line and can make a group application. Usually gets approved within a couple of hours.

Be careful of spoof sites which charge you a fee. I have just done ours - I think it was something like $14 per person.

Very unlikely you’ll need a visa if you are British citizens, without any CMTs, and no previous overstays or denials here. Most likely you’ll come here visa-free but you’ll need to complete the ESTA process to be able to board a flight here without a visa. $14 a person. Lasts 2 years. On the off-chance you need a visa, the appointments are backlogged by months at the London embassy.
