We’re hoping to visit the Carolinas next year and for part of our stay, we would love a big, medium-priced resort with a few pools to entertain our 12 year old. When we’re in Florida, we stay at Orange Lake, so something along those lines if it exists. Thanks!

Coral beach resort and suites @ myrtle beach could be worth a look? Haven’t stayed there myself as we wanted something a bit quieter but close friends of ours recommended it and said it was absolutely amazing for kids.

There are plenty of great resort options in the Carolinas that would be perfect for your family's needs. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Hilton Head Island Beach & Tennis Resort: Located in Hilton Head, South Carolina, this resort offers several pools, including one with a kids' area, as well as a playground, tennis courts, and access to the beach.
  2. Kingston Plantation Condos: This resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has several pools, including one with a water park and lazy river. There's also a kids' club, mini-golf, and access to the beach.
  3. Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa: If you're interested in exploring the mountains of North Carolina, this resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has several pools, including an indoor water park, as well as a kids' club, mini-golf, and other activities.
  4. Sea Watch Resort: Located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, this resort has several pools, including a lazy river and a kids' pool. There's also a playground, game room, and access to the beach.
  5. Ocean Reef Resort: Also located in Myrtle Beach, this resort has several pools, including a kids' pool and a lazy river. There's also a kids' club, game room, and access to the beach.

This is great, thanks so much everyone. I'll go through these one by one. It's so hard when you're just Googling, so this is brilliant thank you.

Thanks again for all the help! I think we’re swaying towards the Sea Watch Resort as it’s near Barefoot Landing. We had been keen on the Sheraton Broadway (inland but next Broadway at the Beach) but it’s been getting awful reviews lately! Sea Watch looks great.

Thanks so much for your reply, we have picked the Kingston Plantation which wasn’t on my radar before your suggestion.

We will also be spending a week at Hilton Head - do you think this is a good base from which to do day trips to Savannah (via the cruise), Beaufort and Charleston? We would like some free days to relax too so thought a nice resort with pools at HH would be ideal.
