Never been to Turkey but the prices for May half term (2024) seem reasonable.

What areas should I be looking at? Will the weather be nice at that time?

The weather should be perfect in May. We like Bodrum and Side.

Weather should be lovely that time of year. I recommend Side, Sarigerme and Icmeler. Gumbet and Marmaris are the sort of Magaluf type places so unless that’s what you’re into probably best avoided.

We like Anatalya.

How old are your children? Lara beach is nearest from the airport but its very much hotels. Atlanya and belek have more to do I'm going to this area next month.

There's an overwhelming amount of hotel choices in Turkey. You need to narrow down a particular part and what things you are looking for.

Magic life masmavi by TUI is where I've booked so exited.

We have been many times over the years. Dalyan we love but is a boat trip down the river to the beach. Olu deniz is also lovely but busy these days and has the lagoon which you often see on the photos. We have also been to bodrum, ok but busy but has a fab castle. I did not like Antalya bit too large hotels but the hotel we did stay in was good. I have gone single, and with the dc and we have always had great holidays.

The sea will still be quite cold, and on the Mediterranean coast, snow melt come down into the sea from the mountains too. Doesn’t matter, of course, if you have a pool. Other than that, the weather should be nice and if you went into the hills, it would be green and blossomy.
