Hi

I'm wanting to take my 14yo son on holiday this summer. I like the idea of a cruise as everything is there under 1 roof but don't know where to start. Plus we both get travel sickness and I'm terrified we would get sick on the ship. People say you don't feel the shop moving and then I've read other people got motion sickness. If not a cruise then somewhere were i feel safe on my own with a child. We a not big into joining in with alot of activities but still want something going on as I feel he would get bored. This should be fun but feel overwhelmed as don't know where to start. Any recommendations welcome 😁

What sort of things do you like? What’s your budget?

An all inclusive in cyprus? My friend has just gone - she's a single mum with a teenage boy - and it looks magnificent!

I'm not sure a cruise is your best bet - lots of activities but perhaps not many teenagers doing them. I'd look at Nielson or similar in Europe. Or maybe a learn to sail holiday around the Greek Islands.

On holiday I just like to relax by the pool but obviously I can't do that all the time as my son would be bored out of his mind. That's what I'm most worried about. He's like swimming but he's not one to go off and join in activities by himself

Thank you. I will have to look into that? Any particular place in Cyprus? I do like being close to a beach

Ah ok.... I think 14 is a weird age. They are at that awkward stage while they are too old for kids stuff and too young for adult stuff 🤦🏼‍♀️

Its for a week so around £1000 each. I assume I have to pay adult price for him

Have a look at hotels with water parks - you can relax and he can swim - soon find other teens to hang out with and to be honest it won’t harm him!

I didn’t take mine at that age as schools offered trips abroad

Alternatively he can take a friend.
