What was your best holiday ever? Where did you stay and what made it the best!

(Our holiday to Egypt has been cancelled - looking for alternatives!)

Vietnam. Best country ever

Couples Resort in Negril, Jamaica.

Amazing beach, food, people, vibe. A dream.

Iceland - with the DC. So unique. Probably ties with the Maldives.

uggmum · 18/04/2023 19:17

My best holiday ever was Mauritius. Such a lovely country.

Loved Crete in Greece, it was absolutely gorgeous. Dubai is absolutely beautiful as well, just went there with DC during the Easter holidays.

Has to be Sri Lanka for me. Marries the best bits of India and the far east for me… just wonderful people, food, landscapes etc. Love it.

Amboseli · 18/04/2023 19:23

Kenya safari. Magical. Can't wait to go again. Sri Lanka also fabulous.

ColdAsAWitchsTit · 18/04/2023 19:34

Another vote for Sri Lanka. It's a fabulous country.

gogohmm · 18/04/2023 19:36

Alaska road trip or Sri Lanka by train

Sorry OP. Hope you get to go to Egypt soon. We went this year, liked the history but not the hassle. Still would go to Luxor, so much to see.

Crete
Iceland
Rome
Lake Garda
South of France - have all been good.

We are currently at The Voyage Belek in Turkey and it's phenomenal. Just as you described with your Egypt hotel- ultra all inclusive so a'la cartes, 11 bars, heaps of pools, waterpark, splash pool, play parks, funfair and we have a lagoon villa so it is practically a swim up.

Iamblossom · 18/04/2023 21:53

We've been skiing many times with our two sons but this last one in February was my all time favourite time.

A combination of them being 16 and 18 and basically self sufficient, not needing ski school, all of us getting on, and a fabulous hotel, village, food, weather and no injuries.

We had a brilliant week. 👌🏻

Iamblossom · 18/04/2023 21:56

I would also add Kerala in India, just DH and, I pre-kids.

Did a tea plantation tour, visited and stayed overnight in huts in an elephant sanctuary, which included washing them in a river, the baby ones too!

An excursion on the waterways, ayurvedic massage, amazing weather and phenomenal food. And cheap as chips. Fabulous.

with a kid? Tui Blue Tropical in Sarigerme Turkey.

The hotel is completely geared to families with kids in terms of entertainment, the food is lovely, the gardens and beach are lovely - we just had a brilliant time.
