Villa for family with pre-teens

We’ve come to the realisation that we cannot all be in 1 tiny hotel room for a week without the risk of killing eachother…we’ve never stayed in a villa before, always done package holidays with TUI etc, and I don’t really know where to start? Bit nervous of arranging my own car hire etc. We’d like to try somewhere new, now the kids are older they’d enjoy a mixture of activities not just the beach…we’ve been to Greece and Spain but happy to go there again but equally have heard Italy is lovely, just no idea where to look at more specifically than that! So any recommendations of places with kids around a similar age would be brilliant!

Mine at this age liked to be around others their age rather than in a private villa, if yours the same I’d suggest a two bedroom apartment on a small complex that shares a pool.

James villas give you the option of arranging flights and car along with the villa

We used to do key camp - I think it's been bought by Euro camp now ? in the static caravans in France when ours were this age . They loved meeting other teenagers and the activities there .Just another suggestion ?

Jet2 villas is a good place to start your search op.

I found that DD would be bored in a villa holiday when she was a pre-teen. She preferred the activities of a resort and the chance to do stuff with others.

We always had a family room with either a sofa bed or a second bedroom.

We also always had a hire car and did our own trips.

DD is now 15, nearly 16 and much more prefers being on her own than in a busy resort.

At those ages I highly recommend a campsite with decent accommodation options. There's multiple options north of Venice that you can drive to via Germany (allow 2 overnight stops from se England, extra one from the north/west) or fly and rent a car
