Glasgow and nearby Loch/s

I'm hoping to take my kids away at the end of August. Was thinking 2 - 3 nights in Glasgow (premier inn) and 4 - 5 nights in a b n b or airbnb near a Loch.
We live in Yorkshire, I'll be driving, single parent with one autistic child.

Needs to be easy, quietish for DC and on a budget.

Any suggestions or recommendations please? We like doing stuff, museums etc, beautiful countryside and walks.

Thank you.

Have a look at Finlaystone (for barn accommodation and lovely walks), Balloch, Callander. If you decide to camp there's a beautiful site at Luss right on the shore, although noisy from the road. All based around Loch Lomond. There's also a couple of lovely campsites further up from Balloch that are quieter, also on the shores.

Thank you! We're not campers though and I'm an arachnophobe so tend to avoid barns etc.

Any other suggestions please?

Lodge on the loch, Cameron house, there's a place you can hire lodges next to the cruin, there's also hunters quay, drymsinie (not sure of spelling but it's close)

They're all expensive - can be £700 for 3 nights. Nowhere near the loch with accommodation is budget friendly.

There's a Forest Holidays site at Strathyre which is right next to Callandar. The site is next to a loch - it's beautiful, and Callandar is a lovely town. Lots of things to do round there and all within the Loch Lomand and Trossachs national park, so it's really beautiful.

Callander is indeed lovely, I recently stayed at Roman Camp hotel, beautiful place
Very easy drive to Stirling, and Loch Lomond
