Hi

DH and I are planning a trip for this September to celebrate our anniversay.

We have narrowed it down to either Bardolino, Sirmione, or Garda area and we'd ideally like to be wthin walking distance to Restaurants, Cafe's etc.

Would anyone be able recommend any hotels for a nice romantic break.

Thank you

Malcesine is the nicest town!

It's a beautiful area to spend a romantic anniversary. I can't help you with hotels in your specific towns but we spent our Silver Wedding Anniversary in Riva at the Lido Palace. Just wonderful.

Thank you - I assumed the locations further north might be a bit cooler mid Sept so went for more southerly locations. Perhaps I have got this wrong and should re-look...

We went in mid September too although nearly a decade ago so some memories are a bit hazy. I definitely had summer clothes with me but the evenings were cooler. The Lido Palace had a spa that opened onto a terrace and we sunbathed and swam in the outdoor pool.

Hotel Maximillian in Malcesine is beautiful.

Malcesine is lovely but it is small and entirely hollowed out by tourism. I’d choose somewhere a bit bigger, and if you go further south you get better transport links, eg if you wanted to get the train to Verona for the day.

We stayed in Hotel Remat in Garda. Very central, beautiful rooms.
