Failed to book tickets to visit Reichstag

Just that. Heading to Berlin tomorrow, didn't book anything in advance because ds3 has had a cast on his leg and we weren't sure if he'd be able to walk. He got the cast off last week but i forgot about booking the tickets. Now there's nothing available until 1st May.

Has anyone been recently, is there any chance at all of tickets from the ticket office this late in the day?

This is the one thing ds1 really wants to do. I should have booked in advance.

We've just got back. Honestly it wasn't that amazing. Lots more interesting places to visit in Berlin.

Where have you got planned? It did seem to be very busy when we were there.

There’s a cafe / restaurant on the roof of the Reichstag building. You need to book at least 48 hours in advance so they can submit your details for security checks. You can wander around the roof after your meal.

Have you been to the Checkpoint Charlie museum? I wasn’t a big fan of the Reichstag (as a child or adult).

Different location and city, but one of my party couldn't make it to a booked visit to the US Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. I hung around the lobby and approached people to see if they needed an extra ticket, and was able to donate it in the end. You might find people who have more tickets than members of their party on the day.
