Pool ratios Haven

Does anybody know the pool ratios for Haven? We have an almost 9 year old (swimmer). Then my other children are 6,4,2 and 3 months. Can we use the pool?

Best thing to do is google the individual site you’re staying at and ring them. They sometimes have different rules from one another.

I found a 2:1 ratio for under8s in the terms and conditions.

Maybe best to get in touch with Haven to ask? I haven't been to a haven site but I've never been to any pool that wasn't 1:1 for under 5s.

The only rule I've seen is that any 8 year old requires an adult to be in the pool with them. Bigger question is with 2 adults in the pool, can you keep them all safe? Just because the 9 year old can swim doesn't mean they don't need supervision.

Having seen a woman struggling in a busy pool at Butlins with a tiny baby and a single toddler in floaties I'd recommend you scope out the pool in advance at least.

Even if it's allowed I'm not sure I could cope. If there are two adults I'd take two at a time to different sessions.

I suspect it depends on the specific park as apposed to a blanket rule but with even the most sensible 9 year old I don't think 2 adults is enough to safely supervise 4 other young children in water.

With a 6,4,2 and 3 month old I would imagine you'd need at least 3 adults to safely supervise them. Otherwise what happens when one of them needs to toilet or the 3 month old wants to get out because it's too cold one adult being left in charge of the other 3 kids is an accident waiting to happen.

Thanks all for replies. We have taken them swimming lots when we only had the four of them and went swimming a couple of times this week over the Easter break as a family of 7 and it’s been fine. However, our local pool has a very good shallow kids pool so it’s much easier to supervise. I’ll scope out the pool at haggarston and see how it looks as may be easier if we do it where husband takes them two at a time on different days.
