Thailand visa … confused

Hi can anyone please help with this…DC is planning on going to Thailand for just over 2 weeks, then leaving on a tour to Vietnam/Cambodia for 30 days and then comes back again into Thailand for just under 30 days. Can they use the visa exemption twice to enter Thailand or do they need another type of visa from the UK? It’s so confusing! Thanks

Ummm if going in and out of Thailand border controls twice that is really 2 trips, both individually within the 45 days visa exemption. Same as 2 entirely separate trips would be?

Would need to make absolutely sure that passed through a border check point when leaving Thailand to go to Vietnam, processed out of Thailand and then when come back to Thailand it’s a fresh trip in and out again? How are they travelling across the border?

Would think it’s quite a common question to the Thai immigration authorities, so ask them to confirm?

Thank you. That’s what we were thinking - it’s classed as two separate trips both less than 45 days so are covered by the visa exemption. I’ve been on the official website and had a look at FAQs - you’d think it’s a common question but I couldn’t find an answer! There is also a ‘multi entry visa’ available, so we couldn’t work out if they needed that (hope not as lots of paperwork involved!)

Sorry I didn’t answer your question… it’s a flight out of Thailand to Vietnam and then back in from Cambodia.

Okay so he has evidence of onward travel when he arrives for the first time - that was my concern if he was maybe going to travel by bus and didn't have the ticket to prove it.

I would try to contact the embassy by phone or social media maybe.
