Venice airport boat transfer

I’m booking a private boat transfer for 4 people. Can people who have done this before let me know if it’s a tipping situation, and if so, how much do you tip? Thanks!

I just had a quick look on the taxi acqueo websites if that's what you mean, and they all state "it's not obligatory to give a tip but it would be appreciated" At about €120 from the airport to the centre, I suppose an extra €10 would be about right.

We went a few years ago, can't remember the name of the boat company.
It specifically said that tipping was not required, so it might be worth shopping around. That short trip was almost as expensive as our flights !

I really wouldn't bother getting a private transfer.
I went to Venice on my own last year and their public boat transport from the airport is so simple and so much cheaper.

There's a office to buy the water taxi tickets inside the airport, and then a 5/10 minute walk to get to them....

Anyway (sorry if you've been before!) - Enjoy! It's a fabulous place to visit! Smile

Thanks for the responses. I’m here now, travelled with a couple of older family members who really bother about things like transfers and a disabled DC. Ended up with the private water taxi and tipped €10 which the driver seemed happy with. Really expensive for a short ride, but enjoyed by all.

Have taken the Alilaguna in the past - may well risk it on the way back!
