Skiathos? Paphos? Protoras?

Looking for a nice holiday for one week. So rules out long haul really.
skiathos looks nice… but is it scenic for walking or is it just a beach activity holiday? The hotels look fairly basic too?
found a lovely hotel on Paphos but not sure if too built up and commercialised?
looking for September with grown up children. Want to explore and a nice beach too but not Too commercialised. Not sure if Skiathos has enough? Can anyone help or suggest others ? Thank you

September in Skiathos can be good weather and also less crowded as the children have gone back to school. There are lots of mapped walking trails, and Koukounares has a massive water sports beach. Most of the beaches are good. Skiathos town is pretty vibrant at night, lots of places to eat and bars. In fact even in the smaller resorts there are good tavernas and bars. As the island is relatively small, getting from the airport to your accommodation isn’t a long haul. The public buses are good and cheap.

It depends what you all want to do and what type and standard of accommodation you want, but Skiathos has a wide range.
