Looking to book a cottage for Christmas, is there anywhere in the UK that consistently gets snow in December or is this a pipe dream 😁

It’s a pipe dream, nowhere in the U.K. consistently gets snow at Christmas.

There’s ski resorts in Scotland, so I’d presume they get pretty consistent snow to make building whole ski resorts worth while. I’d look for cottages nearby.

@LimeCheesecake ive been looking at Aviemore, but google tells me their season starts in January. Hopefully someone who lives there will spot this thread and clarify for me as I’d love to take her there and do snow sports at xmas.

I'm in Scotland and have had snow for lots of Christmas's but not consistently.

Highlands here. January is more realistic for it to stick around.

I'm not far from Aviemore, further north, I def would've bank on being able to do snow sports at Christmas, you'd have by far a better chance of you came at Easter.

Wouldn't sorry

Follow Cairngorm Mountain Resort, they do updates daily on skiing conditions

We go & see my stepson & family in East Kilbride either just before, or just after Christmas most years & it's often snowy. Also as we're driving through the borders. That's just my experience though, I wouldn't say you can bank on it.

Just because there are ski slopes doesn’t mean there will be snow! The Scottish ski season is very hit n miss and snow conditions are often only any good on the higher slopes so if you’re in a cottage lower down you might not see any.
