Looking for recommendations of holiday destinations with as little flying time as possible from Ireland, maybe France, Italy, etc and an area/resort that would have almost everything within it.

Children age 5, 2 and 3 months.

Any recommendations in Italy, France, Spain etc?

Thank you.

At those ages I would drive, means you ca. throw everything you need in the car. france is obviously easiest as there's a direct ferry, head to the vendee for warmer weather but not too far to drive

Drive to a Eurocamp in France - could go as far as the Loire and there is lots to do if the weather is mixed, the sites are so fun for kids and easy for parents

Or further afield we love this place

Not where you asked, but honestly, with those ages, I'd go to the Isle of Wight. Loads for that age group, travelling short distances, beautiful, it's got a micro climate so usually sunny when the mainland's not. The whole island is a summer resort.

I think you’re suggesting going abroad, however just wanted to check if you’ve considered/tried Butlins with those ages?? I appreciate it isn’t the most upmarket, but so much to do.

I was initially thinking it would be awful, but found a good deal - and honestly the children say it’s as good as Disneyland to them 🙈🙈

Bluestone I'm Pembs is nicer than Butlins.

Some nice suggestions to look into thank you. I went to Zafiro Can Picafort in July just gone and it was fantastic but ideally I'd like to get our next holiday in before crawling/solids stage with my now youngest and somewhere even closer. I'll have a look at these suggestions and look forward to some more. Thank you all.

@KnickerlessParsons I would say Bluestone is different from Butlins. We’d always done Center Parcs and looked at options like Bluestone. Bluestone is more scenic and more outdoorsy. However, in terms of entertainment for small kids, Butlins wins hands down. There’s the funfair, shows, soft play, puppet shows, swimming - and loads of other activities you can book onto. There’s also tots discos and nighttime entertainment that is family friendly - but also a variety for adults.

And of course the beach! Parks. And lots of eateries x

Protur Bonaire in Majorca. It was gorgeous and so easy.

Also one of my favourites is cambrils park resort. It's a eurocamp. Fly to reus airport and it's only 10 mins by taxi. It has everything on site. Have been there twice. Have stayed in the apartments

Indeed it does. It's much nicer! Loads to do in the surrounding area too and fantastic beaches nearby.

@KnickerlessParsons but Bluestone is more like Center Parcs than Butlins! That’s my point. The theme is far more outdoorsy and grown up. I’ve done both types of trips - and I would say far more for the age group in question in Butlins.

In terms of personal taste (and grown up taste), CP and Bluestone would win without question. But small children will generally enjoy Butlins more.

Which Butlins resort would you recommend?

@Kmwa only done the Skegness one as it’s nearest us. Children loved it. I gather Bognor Regis is really nice too x
