Flying UK-USA: what car seat?

Looking for help,
flying UK to USA with a 21 month,
she has her own seat on the flight but will need a car seat and struggling to find the right information on what seat we can use?
If anyone has done this trip then anything would be so helpful!

If you are trying to find what seats are allowed or OTOH banned the only real authoritative source is the relevant airline's website - is that not coming up with anything?

Each State in the US has different laws on child safety seats, where are you traveling once you are there?

Yes we will be, so we will need one to go in transport like taxis too!

But which State? Florida, Massachusetts, Georgia, California?

Asking what the car seat rules are for the USA is like asking what the rules are for Europe. You need to think of this country as a collection of smaller countries, with their own laws and regulations, similar to the EU. All car seats must meet the federal requirements at the minimum, and then each state has its own additional requirements. For example, in my state, car seats are not required in taxis. But other states require them in taxis. In my state, all children under 13 must be in the back seat, unless the vehicle has no back seat, such as a single cab truck or a Smart car.

For the flight itself, check the website of the airline(s) you are using.

we are in the same dilemma. Flying from Manchester to atlanta with virgin. My son is nearly 11 months old and we have booked a seat for him. We are bringing the yoyo buggy, but cant understand what car seat we are allowed to use on board. Ive spoken with virgin and they haven’t been much help. They can’t recommend a specific car seat. Only that it must not be a car seat that
