Two nights next week

We’ve had a horrible week with pregnancy loss and therefore I’m running away from my problems and trying to see if we can escape the country for two nights next week.

interests are food and wine. Preferably sunshine. Don’t want to hire a car! Ideally no longer than a 2 hour flight.

It probably won’t happen but I need something to distract me!

I'm so sorry for your loss. How about Lisbon? Short shlep from airport to city and it's a really easy city to get around and navigate for a few days.

Malaga is a nice city for wandering and there are some nice restaurants, we loved Blossom and there's a famous place for pinchos that the name of escapes me - maybe Casa Lola.
I don't know what the weather is like in Porto but that's lovely for wandering too and eating by the river.
Palma Mallorca is another lovely city for a short break.

What's your nearest airport?

Bobshhh · 22/03/2023 13:14

Ideally Gatwick or city.

Lisbon is a good shout, we’ve been before but I really enjoyed it!

I'm so sorry for your loss. How about Nice ? 2hrs 5 min flight and sunny there.

Not a lot from LCY at a good price.

How about Seville from LGW? Choice of flight times via Easyjet (early or middday) or BA (evening). 2hrs 45. Nearly 30 degree next week.

Dine at Michelin starred Abantal (with wine pairing) or there are several Bib Gourmands, and of course many tapas bars.

All the best.

Sorry for your loss. Maybe Porto or Venice.

We are off to Porto soon and Azores and staying in the Gaia area which has the cable car, views of Porto and the bridge and lots of wine / port things and you just walk across bridge to access Porto. We will stay right by bridge.

Easyjet fly to Bologna from Gatwick next week for a good price - not been myself but keep hearing good things about it especially the food!

Lyon, French gastronomic capital. Short flight, small, brilliant.

Alicante town is 20-25 mins from the airport. The Melia Level is a lovely hotel situated on the beach/marina.
Sorry for the horrible time. Hope you can find somewhere to help you through.
